Taya was raised on a cattle farm in Southern Alberta, where she grew up staying active through 4-H, rodeo, and school sports. After high school, she attended the University of Saskatchewan on a basketball scholarship, earning a degree in Agribusiness before returning to Lethbridge to focus on her career in real estate.
